Signs Of Spanish/Portuguese Victory In World Cup Bid
English football fans hoping for a summer of Football come 2018 may be better off heading to sunny southern-Europe if the latest gaffe from Fifa executives is anything to go by.

The English bid has been losing popularity and credibility in recent weeks, whilst the Portuguese / Spanish bid gains in popularity alongside the rival Russian bid. The English bid has been particularly harmed by newspaper investigations into the Nigerian and Tahitian members. These Fifa members were filmed selling their World Cup bidding votes to a fictionalised American representative.
David Cameron has pledged to help repair English fortunes, and has been lobbying his fellow world leaders at the G20 world summit, Seoul. He will later travel to Zurich to speak directly with Fifa leaders before the December 2nd vote that will finally decide the hosts for 2018 and 2022 World Cups. Having made significant investment already in facilities for the 2012 Olympics, the World Cup is seen as a particularly appealing prospect for the United Kingdom.
Portugals partnership with Spain (which last hosted the World Cup in 1982), gives a freshness to the bid. As reigning World Champions, the Spanish are doubly popular for selection as future World Cup hosts.
